Genius Hour Overview

Using PowToon to create this overview was quite an adventure!  I think PowToon is a really cool way to amp up presentations and is a fun resource that students and teachers can use to create personal movie/video projects.  This interface allows you to input graphics, music, characters, transitions, audio, and video into your presentation.  The characters are animated and provide an added touch of quirkiness that I believe students in Primary/Junior might really enjoy.

Having an interface like this to display information and instruction to students is a great way to keep them engaged in the lesson and focused on the screen!

My only comment would be that the interface can be a little confusing to figure out, and I found that using PowToon on a MacBook was slightly difficult because the mouse kept disappearing, and I would have to keep scrolling around until I brought the mouse out of the Safari window which was the only way to make the cursor reappear. Then I would bring the mouse back in to keep working.  I had to do this numerous times unfortunately because it kept happening.  Other than that, it creates very cool products!
